When the NY governor announced the first vax is heading to LIJ in New Hyde Park, doctors and health care workers at Elmhurst Hospital demanded explanation. This is due to Elmhurst Hospital, the hardest hit in NYC which is not on the list until next mid year. Several doctors at the public hospital stated the President/CEO of Northwell is the Commissioner of NYS Health and also close friend with the governor. Local politicians in Queens are now demanding an investigation why NYC public hospitals are not on the list until next year. The private hospitals are the first on the list and then public.
