Investigation leads to arrest in Salisbury child sexual abuse case

On February 4, 2026, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Herkimer arrested Michael Kilbourne, age 37, of Salisbury, New York, on charges of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a Class B felony.

On January 8, 2026, investigators received information regarding a past sexual assault involving a child. An investigation determined that Kilbourne allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a victim under the age of eleven over the course of a year while at a private residence in the town of Salisbury.
