Inactive still active at all bus stops in Queens

The NYPD Traffic Division has been issuing tickets non stop to bus stops that are inactive on June 29 when the Queens Bus Network Redesign went into effect. According to the MTA, bus stops that are no longer active under Phase I are still active moving to Phase 2 on August 31st when school starts borough wide. Those locations will be updated at the MTA schedule service locator app when ready.

So this means, a bus stop is still a bus stop and the NYPD traffic will issue tickets for the first fine at $50 to $250 for repeated offenders.

Many long timers still insist on standing at their beloved bus stops only to realize they will have to walk to the next active ones. The MYA bus drivers are following the strict order under the watchful eye of their supervisors all around Queens.

The plan started in 2019 since the routes has not been changed for 50 years and this one costs the MTA a cool $35 million a year for faster bus service where some people will have to huff and puff losing their stops.

Don't forget to hydrate.
