Huntington station man indicted for attempted murder of a teen

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Savion Jones, 22, of Huntington Station was indicted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and weapons related charges, for allegedly shooting and seriously injuring a 17-year-old at a party outside of a West Babylon residence.

“Thanks to the quick action of our Suffolk County police officers in applying a tourniquet, this child was not another murder victim,” said District Attorney Tierney.  “We will use every tool at our disposal to investigate and prosecute any acts of violence in order to protect our community from this conduct.”

According to the investigation, on August 15, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Jones allegedly fired upon a 17-year-old victim outside a West Babylon residence during a house party. The victim suffered three gunshot wounds, including a gunshot wound that struck the victim’s femoral artery and vein.  Suffolk County Police Officers quickly responded to the scene and applied a life-saving tourniquet on the victim, who was thereafter transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.  After investigation, and upon a review of surveillance video footage, police identified Jones as the alleged shooter.

On September 2, 2025, Jones was arraigned on the indictment before Acting Supreme Court Justice Richard I. Horowitz for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class B violent felony, Assault in the First Degree, a Class B violent felony and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Class C violent felonies.
