Hopkinton man arrested following a menacing complaint

On October 12, 2025, at approximately 1:48 a.m., New York State Police responded to Sheldon Road in the town of Hopkinton for a report of a menacing complaint.  An investigation determined that Tyler J. Huto, age 22, of Winthrop, NY, became irate and acted in a physical manner toward the victim while holding a shattered beer bottle. Huto struck the victim with the broken bottle, causing a laceration to the victim’s hand. Huto fled the scene prior to the Troopers’ arrival.

State Police members conducted an active search for Huto.

On October 30, 2025, Huto responded to SP Massena, where he was taken into custody and charged with Assault 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd.
