Homicide investigation underway in Queens Village

On Wednesday, January 3rd around 8:30pm, police were called to Jamaica Avenue and 207th Street reporting a 68 year old man was found laying face down on the sidewalk. Initially it was under medical condition of a person fell on the sidewalk but further investigation stated the victim was assaulted and robbed. Shorly the victim died at Queens Hospital. Police have upgraded the crime as homicide. Investigation also showed from surveillance video, there were two suspects when the victim was attacked. Ongoing investigation with no arrests. The dead victim has been identified as Dhanraj Mangra, a father of five children and married to his wife for 46 years.
