Homicide investigation underway for off duty firefighter dead on Belt Parkwy

Police reported multiple vehicle accident on Belt Parkway on Sunday around 4:45am at eastbound Exit 4 in Brooklyn.

Upon arriving, police confirmed a man was laying on the road with head injuries next to his vehicle, a Mustang.

The other driver was not seen and took off.

The dead victim identified as Faizal Coto, 33, a NYC firefighter for 3 years was declared dead at Coney Island Hospital.

Further investigation confirmed after multiple vehicle accident the victim went to confront the other driver and was beaten.

The result was road rage and now police are looking for the driver with Infiniti G35 showing NY license plates, JEA2402 which was last seen on eastbound Belt Parkway and maybe in Queens or Long Island.
