Homicide investigation of golf course caretaker in Woodhaven

Police reported the arrest of David Mangaran, 19 after homicide investigation of a golf course caretaker in Woodhaven. The incident was reported on September 8 when the victim, William Hinchey, 79 saw a group of teens riding bicycles on the golf course inside the Forest Park Golf and tried to steal a flag. During confrontation, Hinchey was pushed to the ground and later taken to the hospital. Three days later Hinchey died. Police charged Mangaran with felony assault and is on $25,000 bail. Charges are pending upgrade by the Queens DA's office for homicide.
