Homicide investigation at the local park in Queens

The NYPD closed off one part of the Forest Park by the Highland Park lake reporting a body of a female was found. This is in Woodhaven.

The incident was reported yesterday late night when calls came in of an unresponsive female, black in her 30's.

ESU removed the body and the medical examiner transported it pending autopsy to determine the cause of death.

A witness say the victim was in her jogger's clothes but detectives have not confirmed.

The victim's family has been notified.

As of now the park vicinity remains closed.

The investigation continues.
