Homeless man charged with beating of Ozone Park woman

Police charged Derrick Chirse, 57 with no known address for the robbery and beating the 35 year old woman victim in Ozone Park in front of her 4 year old son. The incident left the victim and her family in fear. Chirse was caught after tips leads to his location of a homeless shelter where he was seen entering from surveillance video. According to Queens DA's office, he stated, ?I wish I never did it. If she would?ve given me the 10 bucks, I wouldn?t have punched her,? His bail is set at $100,000.
