Hillside Avenue is adding seasonal lights for the second year

Workers from the Dept of Transportation are adding seasonal lights on Hillside Avenue from Langdale Street to near Commonwealth Blvd. From Bellerose to the border of Floral Park, Hillside Avenue will see the bright lights while passing by.

This was started by The Floral Park Bellerose Indian Merchants Association under the leadership of Hemant Shah, a local realtor. Queens Chamber of Commerce and local council member Barry Grodenchik played a huge role also.

The lights are expected to be on tonight in time for Diwali, a major Indian holiday.
