Hempstead man indicted for grand larceny for allegedly stealing approximately USD82 000 worth of tires

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Milton Blaylock, 27, of Hempstead, was indicted for Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, for allegedly stealing multiple tires from a Pep Boys store when he was employed there as an assistant service manager.

“This indictment provides another example of my commitment to pursue retail thefts occurring at our commercial establishments,” said District Attorney Ray Tierney. “These thefts were made even more egregious as the alleged thief was a trusted employee, who allegedly used his position to line his pockets instead of managing the shop honestly and professionally.”

According to the investigation, from August 2025 to November of 2025, Blaylock, while working as an Assistant Service Manager for Pep Boys located in Bay Shore, allegedly stole approximately $82,000 worth of new tires from his employer by ordering tires for fictitious customers and then removed the tires form the store’s inventory without permission from the company. Approximately 38 special orders for tires were allegedly made by Blaylock for these fictitious customers. Blaylock was employed with the company three years when loss prevention for Pep Boys discovered the alleged theft and reported it to authorities. On March 19, 2026, Blaylock was arrested.

On March 20, 2026, Baylock was arraigned on the indictment before Acting Supreme Court Justice Anthony S. Senft for one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a Class C felony.

Justice Senft ordered Blaylock to be placed on supervised release. Blaylock is due back in court on April 15, 2026, and faces a maximum indeterminate sentence of 7 ½ to 15 years in prison if convicted.
