Hempstead gas station attendant busted trying to flee with stolen money

Police arrested Muzaffer Aktas, 49 of Uniondae and charged with theft. The incident happened on Sunday, February 18 at the gas station Aktas was employed around 10pm. Police reported Aktas allegedly stole cash from the back office and tried to flee the country after tracking down on Monday. The owner alerted authorities including Port Authority. The cash was given back to the owner.
