Heavy fire at an apartment building in Baldwin

The NCPD reported heavy fire at an apartment building in Baldwin, Nassau County. The fire started on the first floor of a large three story apartment building on Merrick Blvd at the location, 700 around 11:30am this morning.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

By 1pm, the fire was brought under control.

The fire marshal reported this was a fifth alarm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
