Heavy fire at a commercial location in Garden City

Firefighters reported heavy fire at a commercial location in Garden City. This is at the local Garden City Plaza inside the local mall.

The fire started around 5:30am and a second alarm was reported. By 6:30am, the fire was brought under control.

The fire started in the elevator and extended around the five story commercial building.

EMS reported minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation
