Heavy delays on Belt Parkway due to MVA involving NYPD after chase

Belt Parkway eastbound at Springfield Blvd, multiple vehicle accident involving NYPD vehicle. Reported it was a chase after a driver refused to pull over on the parkway. Two officers suffered injuries and taken to Jamaica Hospital. Several other civilians were also injured with three in serious condition. The driver was stopped and taken into custody. Heavy delays in both directions. Update - The driver parked the vehicle on the shoulder and was lying down when police went to check. Upon waking, the driver took off and hit the police vehicle. Then took off causing chase resulting five police officers in the hospital with injuries. Police also reported the driver was high possibly on drug.
