Green Acres Mall attempted kidnapping was a misunderstanding

Police reported the the incident at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream on Sunday regarding attempted kidnapping was a misunderstanding.

There is no arrest after identifying the suspect since there was no probable cause.

Police released the statement after investigation. The original report stated on Sunday, the suspect grabbed a child's hand and tried to leave the mall from the common area.

He was stopped when the child's relative confronted and walked away. Police identified the suspect as male, 35, 5'5", 140lbs and was wearing dark green coat, red and white pants and black boots.
