Governor Cuomo issued a press statement of passing of Flushing Assemblyman Michael Simanowitz

He died on September 2 after illness. He is survived by his wife and children. He was 45. He represented Flushing, College Point, Whitestone, part of Kew Gardens and Richmond Hill. A special election is underway for his replacement.
