Gas station saved on time from whoa in Hempstead

The NCPD reported a pick up truck fire initially at the local gas station in Hempstead. A witness says the pick up truck was speeding to get to the gas station, Conoco on Henry Street and knocked over one of the tanks catching fire. A slew of 911 calls saved the gas station from the fire extension all around prompted fire personnel to arrive at the scene quickly. Firefighters managed to put out the fire rapid fast.

EMS reported no injuries except smoke inhalation.

This is by Jerusalem Avenue where police closed off around 10 blocks for safety.

The investigation continues.
