Fresh Meadows is on a booming stage

Today at 6:30pm, at the Hillcrest Jewish Center, there will be a community meeting on the new plan of Fresh Meadows Vision.

The plan is to expand the shopping hub around 188 Street to 73rd Avenue and Horace Harding Expressway with 2,000 mixed income apartment units, 1,800 new parking spaces, outdoor areas extension, community space, childcare and senior facilities, upgrade sewer lines and more.

The public is invited to add their feedback, comments and suggestions.

After this, the community board consisting of locals on name sake will review the notes. The next stage is the city planning commission, queens borough president's office and then the city council for approval.

Of course, if all stages are approved and when the construction starts, it will be years and years.

The last change on the area was pedestrian safety improvements in 2021.

The next change is the MTA bus design implementation and the meeting will be held on May 29 at 7:30pm in the same Hillcrest Jewish Center located on 193-02 Union Turnpike.

All are encouraged to attend.
