Four teens robbed in East Meadow

The NCPD reported robbery of four teens in East Meadow on Monday around 10pm on July 13.
According to Detectives, four male victims, ages 14, 15, 15, 16, were in the parking lot of 391 East Meadow Avenue when they were approached by five unknown males wearing masks. The unknown males threatened the victims by displaying weapons and demanded their bicycles; the victims complied. The subjects fled the scene on Prospect Avenue while riding the stolen bicycles. Officers arrived on scene and began canvassing the area with the assistance of the K-9 unit and Aviation. Officers observed two male juvenile subjects at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Maple Avenue. They immediately jumped off the bicycles and began to flee from Officers. The first male juvenile, 15, was located at 10:18pm in the rear yard of a residence on Cherry Place. The second male juvenile, 14, was located at Prospect Avenue and Starke Avenue and placed into custody without incident at approximately 10:15pm. At approximately 10:22pm Officers located a third male juvenile, 15, on Peters Avenue and placed him into custody without incident. Officers located defendant Jordan Canales-Caceres, 18, of 135 Clinton Street Hempstead at the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Meadowbrook Parkway and placed him into custody at approximately 10:38pm. At approximately 10:46pm Officers put out a notification in the area of Concord Avenue and with the assistance of Aviation, K-9 Officers located the fourth male juvenile, 16, on Cherry Place and he was taken into custody a short time later. No injuries were reported. Four BMX style bicycles were recovered along with a steak knife, hammer and a screwdriver.
Juvenile Defendants one, two and three are each charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. Defendant Jordan Canales-Caceres and Defendant Juvenile four are each charged with Robbery 1st Degree. All five defendants will be arraigned in Nassau County on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
