Former school employee indicted for sexual abuse and use of a child in a sexual performance

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Brian Woehr, 40, a former Lindenhurst school district employee, was indicted for Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance as a Sexually Motivated Felony, and several related charges, for allegedly filming himself sexually abusing a child, and then sharing the videos and images.

“Beyond the horrific trauma of the sexual abuse itself, this defendant allegedly recorded these despicable acts and distributed that material to others. Each view and share re-victimizes the child,” said District Attorney Tierney. “This office remains steadfastly committed to holding accountable those who exploit and harm children.”

On April 30, 2025, the Suffolk County Police Department Digital Forensics Unit received a tip from the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about multiple child sexual abuse images that had allegedly been uploaded via Google. A search warrant was executed at Woehr’s home that day, and he was found in possession of a cellular telephone. Forensic analysis of that phone revealed that several of the videos and images that had been shared were allegedly produced by Woehr and depicted the sexual abuse of a child.

On May 14, 2025, Woehr was arraigned on the indictment before, Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis for the following charges contained in the indictment:

• Two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance as a Sexually Motivated Felony, a Class C felony;

• Two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, a Class C felony;

• Two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class D felony;

• Fifty-two counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class E felony;

• Fifty-four counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class D felony; and

• One count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor.

Justice Wilutis ordered Woehr held on $1,500,000 cash, $5,000,000 bond or $15,000,000 partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Woehr is due back in court on June 20, 2025, and faces 15 years in prison if convicted on the top count. He is being represented by Steve Fondulis, Esq.
