Forest Hills to have permanent car free road

The NYC mayor's office confirmed Restaurant Row in Forest Hills will be permanently car-free. The city is reviewing more locations in the 5 boroughs to make car free roads to suit outdoor dining all year round after making it permanent. The 70th Road will be added with new structure between Austin Street and Queens Blvd. At the moment, there are 87 locations the city has selected for Open Streets initiative. For Queens, Forest Hills is the only location and the rest are mostly in Manhattan.
