Flushing doctor sentenced to seven years in jail

Lawrence Choy, a doctor practicing out of Flushing has been sentenced to seven years. The doctor's illegal prescriptions resulted three deaths. The announcement of sentence was made today by Bridget G. Brennan, New York City's Special Narcotics Prosecutor. After the overdose deaths, Choy took off to Wisconsin closing his practice in Flushing. He was later apprehended and brought back to NYC. He pleaded guilty in June after convicted of two manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and criminal sale of a prescription for a controlled substance.
