Floral Park man sentenced for child porn

On Tuesday, October 10, Vincent Calamia, 52 was sentenced to 19 years and 7 months in prison. The sentence was announced today afternoon. Calamia pleaded guilty to child porn and other sexual violations. Calamia was operating the bar, Frankie and Vinnie's Bar on Jericho Turnpike near Cross Island Parkway when he was arrested in 2014. When he was arrested, he was charged with seven counts of child porn but later prosecutors dropped them as part of the plea deal. Also, upon release, Calamia must be register as a sex offender and will be placed on 10 years probation. Also, he cannot be with children without the presence of adult. After he was arrested, only one person came forth and submitted testimoney. While under investigation after his arrest, Calamia reported he was a victim of child abuse himself. After serving 39 months in jail due to revoked bail, he only stated, "I have to accept full responsibility for my actions." before sentencing.
