First schools now the entire NYC for speed cameras

The NYC Mayor's Office confirmed all speed cameras will be 24/7/365 starting August 1. As of now, the Dept of Transportation will activate the cameras close to school zones for around the clock and then expand to all boroughs starting tomorrow.

The current timing from 6am to 10pm will be kaput today midnight.

However, the DOT will not release which cameras are pending for August 1st so it's best to stay alert to all locations.

Currently, the city has around 2,000 cameras and another 500 is expected to be added by the end of 2023.
