First offshore wind project coming to Long Island

Congratulations to Long Island for leading the nation with 5 offshore wind projects nationwide.

The first offshore wind project will start by the company, South Fork in Suffolk County. The construction is expected to be completed in 2023.

The Governor was in Long Island on Friday for the press statement. Beside jobs, the project will produce 9,000 megawatts of offshore wind by 2035, enough to cover one major portion of Long Island.
