A Sunday night fire in Dutchess County, NY has tragically claimed the lives of a mother and her daughter.

According to the New York State Police, at approximately 10:30 p.m. troopers along with the East Clinton Fire Department were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to a reported house fire on Clinton Hollow Road in the town of Clinton.

As first responders arrived on the scene they found the 911 caller outside of the house who told them that there were still three other people inside the burning house including two children and their mother who were thought to be on the second floor.

At this point, first responders were unable to enter the inferno until firefighters from the Pleasant Valley Fire Department arrived on the scene to provide mutual aid in battling the heavy fire.

As firefighters fought their way into the house they discovered 35-year-old Shannon K. Hubbard, of Brewster, MA, along with her two children, a three-year-old boy, and one-year-old girl, and quickly got them out of the residence.
