Fire destroyed businesses in Sunnyside

FDNY reported fire at 45-02 Queens Blvd in Sunnyside on December 13 around 2:14am at the eatery, New York Style Eats.

Within 5 minutes, firefighters arrived but the fire spread to the next door businesses, Sidetracks, Zen Yai, UPS, Romantic Depot and the hardware store destroying all the stores.

FDNY reported the 5th alarm resulted 7 firefighters injured and 5 civilians. All were taken to hospitals.

Also reported the building collapsed inside the restaurant during the fire. About 200 firefighters were working on the scene and the fire was under control by 8am.

The cause of fire is under investigation. Queens Blvd in both directions between 43 Street & 48 Street remains closed.
