Fire broke out in South Ozone Park with one dead

Around 12:30am on Saturday, FDNY reported a fire at a home on 133rd Street near 133rd Avenue in South Ozone Park. EMS reported one dead, a male, 57. The first started on the first floor of the private dwelling.

It took over three hours to bring the fire under control.

EMS reported no injuries to firefighters.

The medical examiner transported the body pending autopsy.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
