Fire at a home in Hollis with one dead

The FDNY reported fire at a home in Hollis this morning. This is on Hollis Avenue near 195th Street. The fire started around 8:30am in the second floor of a private dwelling.

Firefighters reported a female was found unconscious inside.

The medical examiner confirmed the female died inside and was transported to conduct an autopsy.

EMS reported no other injuries.

The fire was brought under control within one hour.

The fire marshal is working on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

The investigation continues.
