Fire at a home in Elmhurst has all occupants moved

The FDNY reported heavy fire at a home in Elmhurst. The fire started around 3:45pm this afternoon and extended throughout the home. The fire marshal say the incident started on the second floor of a three family home. EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

The fire was brought under control around 6:30pm.

All residents have been moved to temporary shelters including the next door homes which are attached.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
