Female victim scammed from online in Long Island

The First Squad Detectives are investigating a Grand Larceny that occurred from February 16, 2021 through May 21, 2021 in Baldwin. According to detectives, a female victim, 69, was corresponding with an unknown person, believed to be a male, on the internet. The subject called and emailed the victim over the past six (6) months. The victim sent funds exceeding $35,000 to the unknown person in nine (9) transactions. The investigation is ongoing.
