Fatality in Massapequa

The NCPD reports the details of a fatal vehicular accident that occurred at 10:48am on Thursday February 3, 2022 in Massapequa, Nassau County.

According to police, a sixty-year-old female pedestrian from Wantagh was walking from the south to the north side of Sunrise Highway at Broadway. She was struck in the right lane of the roadway by a Subaru SUV that was traveling eastbound on Sunrise Highway driven by a seventy-six-year-old male from Amityville. The victim was transported by Northwell Ambulance to the Nassau University Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased at 11:25am by hospital staff. The driver of the Subaru remained at scene. The investigation continues.
