Fatal fire with one dead in Sunnyside

The FDNY reported a fire at a home in Sunnyside with one dead. The fire started around 3am at a home on 46th Street near 39th Avenue. The fire marshal reported a male, aged 63, was found inside unresponsive and later declared dead.

The fire started on the first floor of a two story home.

The fire was brought under control by 4am.

A firefighter was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
