Election victories was a simple model for the same winners

What's the secret, matching funds.

For every $1 raised from small donors, primarily low income, the Board of Election takes $6 from taxpayers to match the contribution for candidates.

Just get people with low income to line up and donate just $1 and the Board of Election coughs up the rest from taxpayers. In NYC, the minimum donation is just $10 which is soon to be $5 when the bill passes.

Most candidates followed the same model and declared easy victories last night especially Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx following the Election Day votes on June 27 in NYC. The next election is November for general between Democrats and Republicans for the City Council in NYC.

One example is Melinda Katz received over $560,000 from matching funds running as a Queens Borough President. Another one is NYS Public Advocate receiving over $750,000 matching funds. The list goes on for the incumbents serving low income residents.

It's just that easy to win elections in NYC with matching funds using low income people followed by union support.
