Elderly Person attacked in New York City for refusing to give money

A 60 year old man was reportedly attacked by a suspect after the victim refused to give money.
The suspect was armed with a metal bar in front of 223 First Ave, in the East Village in Manhattan around 2:30 p.m.,
according to the NYPD.
The victim suffered a cut on his head and was taken to the local hospital.
The suspect was last seen fleeing
north on First avenue.
