Early morning burglary investigation in Flushing

The NYPD reported a burglary in progress was reported in downtown Flushing around 6:30am on 33rd Avenue near 134th Street. Police say a group of suspects were found inside a local auto repair shop attempting to steal vehicles when calls came in.

This is when the suspects ran out to escape in different vehicles.

A police officer fired two shots at the suspects during the getaway. Soon, one suspect was nabbed and then another.

EMS reported no one was shot.

ESU recovered shell casings on the scene.

Police recovered four vehicles abandoned by the suspects nearby.

Also police described the suspects as males, Hispanics now on the search.

The investigation continues.
