Driver in critical condition after carjacking incident in Richmond Hill

Police reported on Monday night around 10:45pm, a victim was in the process of getting carjacked in Richmond Hill. This is on Liberty Avenue and Lefferts Blvd when the driver was standing outside with the engine running. Three suspects approached the Lexus driver and attempted to carjack the vehicle but the victim resisted.

Then the victim was pushed out and the suspect took off with the vehicle. During this incident, the victim managed to grab the roof of the vehicle until the vehicle crashed toward a fire hydrant causing it to flip. The suspects took off on foot.

EMS transported the victim driver to a local hospital.

As of today, two are in custody.
