Driver charged with murder of Harleen Grewal of Astoria

On Thursday, October 26, Queens DA's office confirmed the indictment of Saeed Ahmad, 23 of Brooklyn and charged with the murder of Harleen Kaur Grewal of Astoria. The grand jury delivered their result earlier today. Along with homicide, Ahmad is also charged with DWI. The incident happened on Friday, October 13 around 4am on BQE. Queens prosecutors reported Ahmad was under the influence when the vehicle he was driving, Infiniti hit the barrier and the car went up in flames. Grewal was in the passenger side and Ahmad took off in a yellow cab after hailing one on the highway. With no bail, his next court date is in January. If convicted, he is heading to prison for 25 years.
