Discount tickets approved by MTA except Long Island

The MTA agency that controls the public transportation announced discounts for monthly commuters of LIRR in NYC but not in Long Island. The agency stated a 10% discount will be issued to the monthly pass for those traveling around NYC including Queens using LIRR.

For Long Island to NYC or vice versa, pay the full fare or walk.

The new plan is under a pilot program for one year and it will start this July 1st, one day after the congestion pricing starts in NYC.
