Detailed report on the West Hempstead shooting

The suspect is in custody after 3 people were shot with 1 dead. The dead is the day time manager of Stop and Shop in West Hempstead. A 49 year old male. The other two shot, a male and a female store employees are in stable condition. The suspect was apprehended at 100 Terrace Avenue after tracking down and was caught after attempting to flee from the ground floor. No bystanders or any residents were injured. Police reported the suspect had a criminal background which was sealed under the new state law. He was working as a cart collector at Stop and Shop. The gun was a small handgun recovered at the scene. Charges are pending as more investigations are continuing. Over 100 people were inside the supermarket when the incident occurred and all are uninjured.
