Delays on the Nassau County parkway with heavy police presence

The NCPD closed off part of the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway reporting calls came in for shot fired. This is near the Exit 9 in Plainview and the incident was reported around 6pm in Nassau County. Further investigation stated it was a self inflicted incident involving a sole driver on the parkway. ESU is on the scene casing for shells. EMS transported the male with gunshot wound to a local hospital. Detectives are working on the scene.

Update - The NCPD released this statement -

According to detectives, officers responded to the shoulder of the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway just southbound of Old Country Road for an aided case. Upon arrival, officers located a 26-year-old male and initiated life-saving measures. The male was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced by a hospital physician.
