Dead body investigation in Whitestone

The NYPD closed off one part of the Powells Cove Blvd reporting a dead body was found washed ashore.

This is in the vicinity of Whitestone. Cops are also on the bridge.

ESU confirmed the body of a male removed from the shore around 7am this morning.

The medical examiner is working to transport the body to conduct an autopsy. This is near the Throgs Neck Bridge.

Police are not ruling out if this is one of the bodies that was reported missing last week after witnesses say a couple jumped in the water.

The investigation continues.
