Dead body investigation in Long Island

On Sunday around 5:30pm, the SCPD reported a dead body was found washed ashore by Fire Island. This is on Smith Point. The area was closed and evacuated yesterday and has since opened for the public. The medical examiner transported the body pending autopsy.

Police sources stated it was a body of a male.
