Crown Point man charged on weapon and drug charges following a domestic dispute

On February 18, 2026, the New York State Police charged Colby B. English, age 47, of Crown Point, with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree (intent to use), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree (previous conviction), Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, and two counts of Menacing in the 2nd degree.

On February 18, 2026, at approximately 11:34 a.m., troopers responded to Pearl Street in the town of Crown Point for a domestic dispute. An investigation determined that English was acting irate inside the residence. During the altercation, he allegedly brandished a metal bar and an axe handle while making threatening remarks toward the victim.

English also damaged items inside the residence during the incident.
