Correction on the vehicle accidents in Carle Place

According to the NCPD, around 10:30am, a fatal motorcycle accident involving a landscaping truck on Glen Cove Road by I U Willets Road. The investigation is ongoing.

Around 1:30pm, the NCPD reported multiple vehicle accidents on Old Country Road and Clinton Road. This involved 4 vehicles including a FedEx truck. One driver from Massachussettes collided with two vehicles that were stopped at the intersection. From the collision, one of the vehicles was pushed into the intersection and collided with the rear passenger side of a FedEx truck. The driver with Massachusetts plates then exited his vehicle and entered the FedEx truck, attempting to flee the scene by using physical force and verbal threats towards the female operator, 26.

Responding officers attempted to place the driver under arrest and render medical aid for his injuries sustained during the accident. He refused to comply with the verbal commands from the officers. Police were then forced to utilize an ECD (taser) to subdue him. He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Upon further investigation, a loaded Taurus G2C handgun was recovered from the vehicle.

The two female operators of the vehicles that were struck by the defendant, 80 years old and 49 years old, were both transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
