Coronavirus update summary for Thursday

Italy's coronavirus death toll tops 1,000.
NYC declared state of emergency by the mayor
95 confirmed cases, 42 new since yesterday in NYC
25 in Manhattan, 24 in Brooklyn, 17 in Queens, 10 in the Bronx and 5 in Staten Island.
Governor Cuomo reported 328 so far in NY
6 in Suffolk, 40 in Nassau, 62 in NYC
Starting Friday at 5pm, 500 or more people cannot be gathered in one place. Occupancy of 500 or less will have 50% less capacity except schools, hospitals, mass transit and nursing homes, . Broadway shows suspended until April 12.
This is from Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. Nassau County has 40 people tested positive, up from 28 yesterday. 10 are in the hospital and 1 is in critical condition. Most are from Hempstead and 3 from Oyster Bay. Also, 1 from the Bristol Assisted Living facility in North Hills has an 81 year old female at a local hospital. A staff member at Valley Stream high school tested positive.
This is from Mayor of NYC. NYC now has confirmed 53 cases. Two schools closed, the Laboratory School of Finance and Technology and South Bronx Preparatory: A College Board School, due to a student?s self-confirmed positive case of COVID-19. PS 310 in Brooklyn to start remote learning facility.
New York Fed says it will step up purchases of Treasury securities, boosting markets.
The Archdiocese of New York will close its elementary schools next week, affecting more than 19,000 students.
