Community mourns loss of 21 year old woman killed in Queens

Police say 21-year-old Dashanna Donovan was shot in the head Friday night inside the basement of an apartment building on 96th Street in East Elmhurst. Officers responded around 9:20 p.m. after a 911 call reporting an assault in progress. Donovan was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

For longtime resident and community activist Talea Wufka, who has lived in East Elmhurst for 54 years, the news is devastating.
