Coming soon to NYC the new government program

Currently, NYC is facing one issue more than crime and that's eviction.

Following the expiration of the RONA eviction ban, homelessness doubled after rent went up. Over 70,000 people were evicted and the number is now an average of 60,000 a year since then.

With homeless shelters giving to migrants, more people are facing a rent crisis in the city unable to afford the high living costs.

Despite the city's Tenancy and Eviction Support Services team from various agencies, tenants are not protected by rent hikes from non-rent-stabilized units. The city has so many programs but many stated they are ineffective due to waiting for a place. Some are Prevention Assistance and Temporary Housing and CityFHEPS Family Homelessness and Eviction Prevention Supplement.

Next comes 30,000 more migrants in families who will soon face shelter evictions after the 60 day rule expires.

In NYC, the leading eviction is in Queens and it's LeFrak City where 1 in 6 don't pay rent.

The city blames the state and vice versa for rental assistance help. The Mayor is optimistic with the City of Yes, more housing can be allocated for migrants and homeless with a new program using taxpayer funds. If the City of Yes is approved, then eviction will be extreme hard despite homeowner's plea.
